Personal Note from Philip Kay – Director
As one of the Directors of Rotunda Roundhouses, I know that this corona virus is crippling so many people, in all walks of life and businesses. I can see how it is affecting us, and so many of our customers who are waiting for their rotunda buildings to be delivered and erected. There are so many businesses around the UK struggling and wondering if they will survive.
I have stressed about out our customers, stressed about our staff, stressed about having to leave our factory….. and I have stressed about having to close our doors until this virus is under some sort of control.
I have been at home for two weeks now, and I have now realised that in some strange way, closing our doors and having a break, has allowed me to: (a) rest and recuperate and (b) think and plan our future. In addition, it’s given me time that I normally never allow myself (because everything is moving at such a pace!). Even companies trying to change the world also need to allow the world to have a rest.
Its so strange; as awful as this virus is, the true nature of humans, offering help, is overwhelming. It allows us to see so much good instead of so much evil (which seems to be the only thing ever reported). If we could take a moment in time, and capture all this goodwill, carry it forward well after this coronavirus leaves us, then some good out of something bad will make us all be so much better to be with.
While we at Rotunda strive to create more eco-friendly environments for our children and the rest of mankind. We need to step back and take a look at ourselves and ask “can we do more?”, “can we hold out our hand and offer help to others?”. By doing so, make us more diverse, and become eco-warriors. Our primary focus shall remain fixed on helping others whilst simultaneously creating our beautiful eco-buildings.
I sincerely hope so. With that in mind when we at Rotunda return to work, I shall endeavor to try to encourage all of our team, in our morning meetings, to be more considerate, and to offer more help to people we know, and to those that we don’t. Be even more helpful to those that ring us up with a dream to build an eco-house, to try to help as many schools as possible get a beautiful rotunda building, no matter what size, so our young can be educated in a beautiful environment, that is not built out of steel and concrete, but something far more natural and in keeping with our environment.
I think that we have all had to learn to be more patient, and in doing so I can only hope that we, in turn, will be more patient with others.
May I take this opportunity to wish all who read this, “ good health” and I hope we can share some time together in the near future.
Philip Kay
